I don't understand this obsession with a small waist, especially for men, big obliques make you look strong. huge legs and upper body with a tiny waist makes you look unnatural and weak

You only need to strive to be exceptional FOR WHAT YOU HAVE TO WORK WITH. Don't compare yourself to others and you're fine. Compare yourself to your past self Edit: also, those 6 foot games should have 5 foot varieties/class systems so everyone can have equal competing ability within their own league. Instead of just having no shot at the league everyone pays attention to

Never in my life have I ever lifted something off the ground by balancing it on my back first..
Yes ok but it's not exactly the same movement! In the seated leg curl there is a flexion of the tibia towards the biceps femoris, while in the stiff-leg deadlift there is an extension of the hip towards the hamstring, they are two completely different jobs. They train the same muscle (plus many others in the deadlift) but in a different way ! Furthermore, if you did a stiff-leg deadlift with deficit you would get the same lengthening of the hamstring or even more !

You can also just use a band to do assisted pullups. It'll make it easy to alter the angle of your pulling
